A different kind of surgical support

Airo Veterinary Services was founded by Dr Faheem Ilyas to bring personal, experienced BOAS surgical support directly to local veterinary practices. Rather than referring patients to distant specialist centres, Airo works alongside primary care teams — ensuring dogs get the surgery they need while owners maintain the continuity and trust they value.

Airo serves two groups: veterinary practices looking for a reliable, collaborative BOAS surgical partner, and pet owners whose brachycephalic dogs may benefit from surgical airway support.

Why practices and owners choose Airo

Genuinely Experienced in BOAS

Most vets in general practice have performed BOAS surgery only a handful of times, if at all. Dr Faheem has performed 95+ procedures since January 2025 — with a focused clinical approach to brachycephalic airway disease.

Collaborative by Design

Airo works closely with the primary care team before, during and after surgery to provide genuine continuity of care.

Evidence-Led Approach

Clinical assessment and case discussion are combined with clear communication to ensure each dog's surgical needs are considered individually.

Clear Communication

Simple explanations for owners and concise clinical handovers for veterinary teams — no unnecessary complexity.

WhatsApp Aftercare with an RVN

Seven days of daily WhatsApp check-ins from an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse — quick to reply, easy to send photos, and a direct line whenever owners are unsure.

Free Initial Consultation

Arrange a complimentary telephone or video consultation to understand whether surgery is appropriate for your dog.

Founder and Lead Surgeon, Airo Veterinary Services

Dr Faheem Ilyas founded Airo Veterinary Services to make experienced BOAS surgical support more accessible — by bringing it directly to local practices rather than requiring referral to distant specialist centres.

With experience in small animal surgery and a particular interest in brachycephalic airway disease, Dr Faheem has built Airo around a personal, professional and practical approach — supporting practices with assessment, surgery and aftercare, while supporting owners with clear communication, realistic expectations and structured recovery guidance.

Seven days of WhatsApp aftercare

Following every BOAS procedure, an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse checks in with the owner daily for seven days via WhatsApp — quick to reply, easy to share photos and videos, and a direct line for any worry during the most critical period of recovery. Aftercare being sorted is one of the biggest reliefs we hear from both owners and practices.
